It can be very overwhelming to create a healthy lifestyle. Figuring out where to start is the hardest part. According to an article by selfcheck.org, the most important way to a healthy lifestyle is diet. It is important to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, as well as foods with fiber. The combination of these foods together can protect against certain cancers. It is also important to pay attention to the amount of calories you intake per day, verses the amount of calories you burn.
When it comes to you skin it is extremely important to be familiar with it. Take notice of what is normal or any changes you may see. There are so many different skin cancers, and Melanoma is by far the worst. Of all skin cancers only 1% are diagnosed as Melanoma. Melanoma is scary because if it is not caught early it can easily spread from your skin to other organs.
Some tips to prevent skin cancer of any kind include: wearing sunscreen, wearing a hat, wearing clothes that cover you while in the sun, and staying out of direct sunlight between 10am and 4pm. However, when summer weather is here these tips can sometimes be difficult to follow. If you are someone who loves the sun and finds it difficult to follow these tips all the time, keep an eye on your skin. Look at it frequently, and have a friend or family member look at back so they can tell you if they see any abnormalities. If you see anything that looks abnormal or something that your unsure about, get it checked out as soon as possible. Like most other cancers, if caught early Melanoma can be treated.
