X-Ray Technician

The Radiology Technician/Medical assistant will assist Providers; MDs, DOs, PAs, nursing, and administrative staff in the examination, treatment, and perform tasks necessary to complete ordered X-Rays of patients following Adult and Pediatric Urgent Care’s standards and practices as directed by the Medical Director, Dr. Mike Howell. Performs other clerical and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • RMA or CMA highly encouraged
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Computer skills, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Communication Skills, and Customer Service Skills.

The X-Ray Technicians responsibilities (including but not limited to) are:

  • Skilled in positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum views of specific body area as requested by the provider
  • Adjusts immobilization devices and provides appropriate radiation protection
  • Adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure
  • Able to assist the provider during examinations and minor surgeries
  • Ability to explain the procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner
  • Adheres to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” (ALARA)
  • Follows universal precautions, infection control guidelines and sterile technique
  • Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment

Medical Assistant

Verify insurance, patient registration, patient check-out, daily cash drawer balancing, answer phones and route calls, and other duties associated with a medical office. Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have 2 + years of experience in a medical office setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

The MA’s responsibilities (including but not limited to) are:

  • Welcome patients by greeting them and directing them through the registration process
  • Create and maintain files
  • Typical office duties, answering phone lines, filing, faxing, data entry, scanning
  • Collecting and verifying insurance information, process co-pays and payments
  • Maintain a neat and clean office by organizing and keeping the waiting room tidy, cleaning the floors, stocking the restrooms and patient rooms
  • Maintain and ensure patient rooms are clean and tidy
  • Taking patients back, taking vitals, and preparing them to be seen by the provider
  • Injections, EKG’s, blood draws, splinting, rapid tests and other related office tests
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Providing prescription information to patients
  • Call patients with lab results and imaging results
  • Follow-up calls after three days of visit

 

Strong work ethic and excellent customer service attitude, flexibility, telephone skills, customer service, time management, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, strong communication, punctuality and PC skills are a must.
